A wooded-course bag should make the first gap and control the landing. Start with throwing putters and neutral mids, add a workable fairway for hyzer flips or turnovers, keep a low-ceiling option, and carry only the scramble discs you have practiced. Distance belongs in the bag when the course provides space to use it.
Build around controlled speed
Slower discs reduce skip and can hold narrow lines with less lateral movement. Fairways still matter when the ceiling is low or the landing zone is farther, but select them for the gap and finish rather than their maximum field distance.
A neutral and a workable option often cover more wooded shapes than several overstable drivers. Keep one dependable finishing utility for forced corners or wind, not as the default for every tunnel.
Treat scramble as a practiced category
List the recoveries you really throw: short forehand, patent-pending backhand, steep hyzer, roller, or pitch-out. Carry a disc only when you know the release from an awkward stance. An exotic escape disc without repetitions is extra weight under pressure.
