15-Minute Disc Golf Tournament Warmup
Move from easy motion to one committed first-tee shot without turning your warmup into a workout or a score chase.
Warm up the shots you expect to use
The goal is readiness, not proving how far you can throw. Use comfortable effort, stop any movement that feels wrong, and adapt the routine to the space and event rules. If no basket or field is available, rehearse the timing and first-tee decision without throwing.
Before the timer starts
- Check your tee time, starting hole, scorekeeping method, and event announcements.
- Choose one putter, one approach disc, and the likely first-tee disc.
- Keep the landing area clear and yield to players whose tee time comes first.
The 15-minute tournament warmup
Follow the sequence once. Extra throws are optional only when time, space, and event flow allow.
- Minutes 0-2 · Easy movementWalk, breathe, and use comfortable arm circles or your normal low-intensity movement routine. No aggressive stretching or max-effort swings.
- Minutes 2-5 · Short putting touchMake easy putts from a distance where the motion feels relaxed. Focus on balance and a clean release, not a streak.
- Minutes 5-8 · One confident putting distanceMove to a makeable distance you expect during the round. Use the same setup and reset after every putt.
- Minutes 8-12 · Controlled approachesThrow smooth standstills or short approaches with a putter and midrange. Rehearse one straight finish and one dependable finishing line.
- Minutes 12-15 · First-tee rehearsalChoose the safest useful target, visualize the line, and make one to three committed throws at controlled effort. Finish with the disc and cue you plan to use.
Track the routine without rushing it
