What this accuracy session measures

This is not a distance contest. You will throw five controlled shots at each station and award one point only when the disc finishes inside the stated target or passes the stated gate. Use discs you already understand so the result measures execution, not a new mold.

Equipment and setup

  • Five familiar putters, midranges, or fairway drivers
  • Four to eight minis, cones, or visible markers
  • An open field or approved practice area with a clear throwing lane
  • A phone or paper scorecard

Safety: Use a clear field, confirm the landing area is empty before every set, and shorten distances to fit the space.

Four stations · five throws each

Run the accuracy circuit

Mark every station before you begin. Keep the target and release point unchanged for all five throws in a station.

  1. Short landing zoneFrom 100-150 feet, mark a circle or square roughly 25 feet across. Score one point when the disc finishes inside the boundary.
  2. Straight gateFrom 150-200 feet, create a 20-foot-wide gate halfway to the target. Score one point when the disc passes cleanly through the gate on the intended line.
  3. Hyzer landing windowChoose a safe left- or right-finishing line appropriate to your throwing hand. Score one point when the disc enters the marked landing zone on the intended side.
  4. Distance-control zoneMark a front and back boundary 40 feet apart at a comfortable controlled distance. Score one point when the disc finishes between them, regardless of total distance.

Scoring: one point per successful throw, five points per station, 20 points total. Record misses honestly; the weakest station is the purpose of the session.
